Start Up Notes

Dear All,

Let's start thinking.....

We need to turn our thoughts to getting this new project structured and started. It is frustrsting waiting for paperwork and funding, but we need to shape our thinking and organise a work plan to move us ahead.

Here are some things to organise and consider so that we can make our project working time as effective as possible when we gather in Athens. I've written

them as a simple list:

POSTCARDS

Prepare and bring to Athen we will save postage by swapping them.

BOTTLETOPS

Remember that we agreed  on our first  action: To show solidarity  to each other we will collect plastic bottle tops in our schools and communities - well

documented for the website - and send  them to Spain / Maria Jos?s school for a child suffering under Angelman desease ( https://es-es.facebook.com/izandepedro) . A recycling firm will take the bottle tops and give money fort he child. It is a good example where we are heading to: Using things from the past  (Waste)

intelligently  for the benefit of everyone: child, business, environment, our own conscience.  You can start the collection  today with some of your Comenius-children!

CONNECT WITH THE MAIN IDEAS

Reread the original form.   You will be able to make the key ideas work in a way that suits your school and your curriculum.   Think about how you will be able to develop learning experiences without adding to your workload - be creative.

Look back to your notes with all of the wonderful ideas from Italy.

HOSTING A WORKSHOP

If you are hosting a workshop write a few ideas for content and experiences. Think about how it might work. We will have individual workshop specific planning talks at the meetings.

ATTENDING A WORKSHOP

Think about how you will bring your knowledge to share.   We will also need an idea of the actual numbers attending, so have an initial discussion in your school to think about who will participate in the workshop mobilities.. 

DATES AND PERMISSIONS- CORE MEETINGS

Look at Ulla's meetings and workshop dates.  Please ensure that the main named project teachers will be able to attend the four core meetings.  Speak to your Headteachers and go over the proposed meetings dates.

Finally, in case we have date problems, bring copies of your school year dates / holidays / exam timetables / .......etc.

BOOKING FLIGHTS IN ADVANCE

To help the countries who need to fly, we must be ready to book flights quickly to keep the cost down - as stated above....have dates checked and permissions organised BEFORE we meet.  Funding is very specific in Erasmus+.

AGENDA

A full timetable will be organised to ensure that our time in Athens is constructive.   The Scottish and Germans are also going to try to make a working copy of a 'Four Skills Plan' (see form) ready to look at and discuss.

This will be agreed on the Tuesday and does not need to be in the school. We will make plans to meet in groups and try to cover the core planning for workshops.
