The P5-7 made soup for Erasmus+ project and the whole school got to taste it. One of the reasons why we made the soup is because it’s really healthy for you and another reason is because it is economical – the ingredients cost just over £1. Also because the ingredients were locally sourced they didn’t have to travel food miles.
The first thing we did was wash our hands to be hygienic. Then we got all our ingredients ready.
Ingredients we used for vegetable soup:
- Vegetable stock powder
Everyone in P5-7 got to cut up some of the ingredients. Once they were all chopped we put them in a pot and fried them in butter and mixed in boiling water with stock powder. We brought in to the boil and then we left it to simmer for 15 minutes. Then we blended it till it was smooth.
I personally thought it was really nice. Most of the Primary 5-7 class enjoyed it but some of the Primary 1-4 disliked it. I think the little ones weren’t ready for the taste.
In conclusion I enjoyed the vegetable soup. We also made celery soup but I enjoyed the vegetable soup better.
