Once there was a pig called Limpa who had too many T-shirts. Instead, he wanted to have some pillows and rugs. One day an elephant called Ele paid him a visit. Limpa told his friend about his problem. The elephant suggested, “You have to go and see the fairy godmother!”

And right this minute the fairy appeared. Instead of listening to him, she started singing, “Would you like some flowers and castles, armours and dresses or some bric-a-brack? Would you like some diamonds and rubies?” When the fairy godmother had finished her song, she let Limpa speak. He said, “I have 1234 T-shirts but instead, I would rather have pillows and rugs. Can you help me?” The godmother snapped, “Why didn’t you just say so, that besides those useless T-shirts, all you need is cotton for pillows and some material, that I cannot remember how to call, to make rugs. Give me a moment and I’ll conjure some up for you!”

In half an hour, there was a hundred kilos of cotton and about twenty square metres of underlayment.

In two weeks elephant Ele visited Limpa again. There were gorgeous pillows on every armchair, bed and sofa and the floors were covered with soft rugs. Elephant Ele asked, “How did you do this?” Limpa explained, “For the pillows, I cut two pieces in the exact shape out of T-shirts and then slashed the edges. I used the strips to tie up the two pieces by tight knots. When almost all the strips had been tied up, I stuffed the bag with cotton and the fringed pillow was made. I also made the rug out of T-shirts by tying coloured same length strips onto the underlayment.”

The elephant got a little envious as she wanted some soft rugs for herself, too. Luckily, Limpa had some leftover materials. He taught his friend and together they made several beautiful colourful rugs for elephant Ele’s home.

Limpa ja liiga palju t-särke

Kord oli üks siga Limpa, kellel oli liiga palju t-särke. Ta tahtis endale hoopis patju ja vaipu. Ühel päeval tuli talle külla elevant Ele. Limpa kurtis sõbrale oma muret. Elevant Ele arvas:  „Pead minema haldjast ristiema juurde!“

Kohe ilmuski haldjas välja. Selle asemel, et kuulata, hakkas ta laulma: “Kas te tahate lilli ja losse, raudrüüsid ja kleite või kila ja kola? Kas tahate briljante ja rubiine?“

Kui haldjas ristiema oli laulu lõpetanud, andis ta sõna Limpale, kes lausus: „Mul on 1234 t-särki. Ma tahaksin hoopis vaipu ja patju. Kas sa saad mind aidata?“ Ristiema turtsus: ,,Miks sa kohe ei öelnud, et vajad lisaks kasututele t-särkidele vaid vatti patjade jaoks ja vaiba tegemiseks materjali, mille nime ma ei mäleta. Oota, ma kohe võlun!“ Poole tunni pärast oli kohale võlutud sada kilo vatti ja paarkümmend ruutmeetrit vaiba-alust.

Kahe nädala pärast külastas elevant Ele taas Limpat. Kõikidel tugitoolidel, vooditel ja diivanitel olid imeilusad padjad, põrandaid katsid pehmed vaibad. Elevant Ele küsis:“ Kuidas sa seda tegid?“

Limpa selgitas: “Patjade jaoks lõikasin t-särkidest kaks täpselt sama kujuga riidetükki ja tegin neile sälgud serva. Ribade abil sidusin kaks tükki tugevate umbsõlmedega kokku. Kui peaaegu kõik ribad olid kokku seotud, toppisin koti vatti täis ja oligi narmastega padi valmis. Vaiba tegin samuti t-särkidest, sidudes ühepikkused värvilised ribad alusmaterjali külge.“

Elevant muutus natukene kadedaks, ta tahtis endalegi pehmeid vaipu. Õnneks oli Limpal materjali üle, ta õpetas sõpra ja koos tehti veel mitu ilusat värvilist vaipa elevant Ele kodu jaoks.
